FSF Announces New Executive Director: John Sullivan
"I'm looking forward to working closely with FSF president Richard Stallman and our board to advance the goals of the free software movement. I'm very thankful to Peter for his effective leadership in our advocacy campaigns and in our efforts to build resources for free software." ~John Sullivan, Executive Director Free Software Foundation (FSF)
Earlier this week, the FSF announced Sullivan's appointment as its new Executive Director. Sullivan who has been with the FSF since 2003 says he is interested in promoting free software adoption in public and educational institutions as well as making GNU and the rest of the free software movement a welcoming and positive place for everyone.
In his reflections over the past six years, Peter Brown, former FSF Executive Director notes, "I would like to sign off with a message of support for my successor John Sullivan, who is awesome! He will be a great ED for the FSF, and I thank him for all the support he gave me over the years. And thanks to all the staff at the FSF who have worked so hard and made it such a fun time for me."
