Manjaro Linux 23.1.0 "Vulcan” Released
Christmas has come a bit early for Manjaro fans, as version 23.1.0 is already available for download and installation.
The Manjaro team has donned their best Santa cosplay for the release of their latest version of the popular open-source operating system.
Dubbed "Vulcan,” Manjaro 23.1.0 is available as GNOME, KDE Plasma, and XFCE editions and includes extensive kernel updates, the resolution of a Wi-Fi regression issue, support for ASUS ROG ALLY 13 for the linux65, linux66, and linux67 kernels, and an updated linux-firmware package (to ensure even better support for modern hardware).
As well, users can expect plenty of other software updates, including KDE Plasma 5.27 LTS, KDE Gear 23.08.3, Dolphin 23.08, GNOME 45.1, and XFCE 4.18. You'll also find the latest versions of software such as Thunderbird, Firefox, KDE-git, Haskell, and Python.
Vulcan ships with kernel 6.6 but if your system uses older hardware, you'll also find support for two other kernels, which might be better suited for your machine. Those are versions 6.1 and 5.15. Although those kernels aren't installed by default, they can be added via the package manager.
Gamers will be pleased to find that Warzone2100 has been updated to version 4.4.2 16.
Read more about Vulcan in the official Manjaro 23.1.0 release notes and download an ISO from the Manjaro Sourceforge download page.
